I’ve been taking this class for a few years and it’s not only made me confident I can defend myself, it’s given me a new way to challenge myself and new friends. It takes a little bit to get into, but once you start to put the pieces together it’s a fascinating and fun art.

Definitely a great group with a fun style. The instruction is phenomenal and you never feel like you’re in over your head or like you’re being spoken down to. They will genuinely meet you where you are at. Would highly recommend for some practical safely and great community

I have been training here since they opened. They know what they are doing and they are awesome to work with!!!! No attitudes or egos like at some dojos just honest genuine people who care!!!

I have been training with Discovery since 2021 and really would recommend it for those who are interested in self-defense training as well as long term commitment for pursuing personal excellence. To begin with, Discovery Defense Arizona has the breadth of training materials to enable effective self-defense in short term and further exploration into the world of martial Art practices. Furthermore, I find the instructors and fellow students there to share my personal progress as their own. I feel so fortunate to have this dojo not as a fighting arena but as a nurturing ground to learn skills to enhance my physical and mental resilience.

As a middle-aged father who is short and slow, I need practical self-defense skills. Discovery Defense Arizona teaches self-defense for everyone in a supportive and respectful environment. No gimmicks. No magical 360-degree kicks required. Just layering of fundamental skills to remove yourself as a target and ensure that you walk away from confrontations with your life and all of your limbs.

I’ve been training at Discovery Defense since they first opened. In that time, my confidence in my own abilities has grown exponentially! The instructors are fantastic to work with and they truly care about your growth within the art. Thank you for everything you have done!

Discovery Martial Arts is an amazing place to train with great people. They teach a modernized look at ninjutsu and how it can be applied to modern day situations for self defense. I highly recommend trying out the Dojo.

These are people I have been training self defense with for probably over five years now. It is such a great way not only to learn self defense, but to build confidence, be a part of a community, and stay active. It’s also in a way… kind of like therapy? I look forward to it every time and it’s a great way to let off steam. Even when medical issues put me off the mats for a month I can’t help but keep coming back.

Discovery Defense AZ is running a great program. The instructors have created a really fun and engaging atmosphere, and everyone was very friendly. Good group teaching a very cool martial art, with a strong self-defense focus. Look forward to the next time I’m back!
